DKG was co-founded in 1991 by Nathaniel (Nate) Dickerson and Lionel (Leigh) Knight, who at that time had over 25 years of combined commercial banking experience with Chase Manhattan Bank, NA and The First National Bank of Chicago. As bank executives Messrs. Dickerson and Knight were engaged in commercial lending, corporate finance, trade finance, as well as domestic and international debt restructuring.

Nathaniel (Nate) Dickerson enjoyed an eleven-year career at The Chase Manhattan Bank, NA.

Mr. Dickerson’s career at Chase included positions as Vice President in credit risk management functions, including domestic and international debt restructuring, credit administration, and relationship management. While at Chase Mr. Dickerson also assumed a managerial position in Chase’s Credit Training Program, where he taught credit risk management to associates and customers of the Bank, as well as developed training materials and case studies. His training design and instructional skills have been honed on scores of training workshops conducted for such organizations as RMA, American Institute of Banking, National Bankers Association, Banking Skills Training and Consultancy (Vietnam), Omega Performance, and Egyptian Banking Institute.

Following his banking career, Mr. Dickerson has been engaged as a consultant for over twenty-five years providing advisory and capacity building (training) services in numerous countries within the Asia, Caribbean and Central America, Europe and Central Asia, North Africa and Middle East, North America, and Sub Saharan Africa regions. Advisory services have focused on problem loan management, enterprise restructuring, corporate governance, credit risk management, loan assessment, institutional and industry assessments, and organizational design and human resource management. For more than twenty-five years, Mr. Dickerson has designed and delivered training programs for lending professionals serving the small and medium enterprise (SME) and microentrepreneur markets. Training programs have addressed: Problem Loan Management; Out-of-Court Workouts; SME Credit Analysis; Commercial Credit Assessment; Understanding and Appraising a Business Plan, and Credit and Non-credit Risk Management (from the Branch Prospective)

Nate Dickerson is also a member of the management team of GBRW Consulting (GBRW). GBRW is a banking consulting and training company based in the City of London with representation in Singapore, Hanoi, Athens, and Washington DC. GBRW has a successful 25-year track record of providing financial sector consulting, and training, with a focus on Emerging Markets.

Mr. Dickerson holds a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School, with a concentration in international finance and management information science, and a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University, with a major in philosophy.

Lionel (Leigh) Knight’s enjoyed a fifteen-year career in commercial banking that included positions as Vice President and Client Executive at The Chase Manhattan Bank, NA and the First National Bank of Chicago.

Mr. Knight’s extensive banking career encompassed such credit risk management functions as domestic and international relationship management, loan structuring, credit analysis and risk assessment, capital markets development, and trade finance. In these positions, he has led teams of bankers responsible for originating and structuring revolving credits facilities, trade finance and project finance, and mergers and acquisitions transactions for large and medium-sized companies based in the US, Asia, and Europe.

Following his banking career, Mr. Knight has been engaged as a consultant for nearly twenty-five years providing advisory and capacity building (training) services in numerous countries within the Asia, Caribbean and Central America, Europe and Central Asia, North Africa and Middle East, North America, and Sub Saharan Africa regions. Advisory services have focused on SME development financing, credit risk management, strategic and business planning, enterprise restructuring, privatization/enterprise valuations, corporate governance, capital markets development and reform, shareholders/creditors rights, bankruptcy, and financial markets development projects. In the area of capacity building, he has designed and delivered training targeted to SME focused financial institutions. Training programs have addressed: SME credit risk assessment, problem loan management, loan structuring, and agriculture value chain financing. Mr. Knight served on the faculty of the University of Phoenix On-line where he taught a course on Cross Cultural Considerations for International Managers.

Mr. Knight holds a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School, with concentrations in corporate finance and marketing, and a Bachelor of Arts from Villanova University, with a major in liberal arts.
